Early Times Report

Jammu, Nov 20: Over 200 retired employees of Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation clashed with police today during a protest demonstration here demanding clearance of their dues and arrears.
The employees of Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation (JKSRTC), who opted for the Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS), took out the protest march from the Press Club area towards the Civil Secretariat in support of their demand for clearance of dues and arrears.
The employees were prevented by police from marching towards the Civil Secretariat, leading to a minor clash. "We will continue our protest till our demands are met, we want the state government to pay us all the dues and arrears of VRS," JKSRTC president Dev Raj Bali, said.
The protesters raised slogans against the government for not clearing their dues of cost of living allowance and also demanded implementation of Sixth Pay Commission. Bali appealed to the Transport Minister and chairman of JKSRTC to consider the genuine demands of the employees.
