SRINAGAR, Nov 20: As the construction of two roads in between the wildlife sanctuaries of North Kashmir's Uri area is going on from last eight days secretly during nights, the contradictory statements of concerned Wildlife officials about the ongoing work and action taken so far raises many questions.
According to the details received from credible sources, the construction of two roads started earlier this month in between the North Kashmir's Limber Wild Life sanctuary one from Shahkot to Limber and another from Limber to Badroli areas are constructed on the behest of Minister for Health Education Taj Mohi-ud-Din who funded Rs 10 lakhs for the construction of shahkot to Limber road from his Constituency Development Fund and also managed to construct Limber to Badroli road under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna (PMGSY) after his using political profile.
As a flock of people who approached Early Times namely Muhammad Subahan Najar, Abdul Khaliq Dar, Mohammad Rafiq Bhat, Mushtaq Ahmad and Mohammad Iqbal of Najar Mohalla and said that the construction of two roads is going on in the knowledge of concerned Wildlife and Forest officials, the recorded contradictory statements of concerned wild life officials change altogether in connection with the action taken so far in the matter and each started blaming another for the ongoing construction of two roads in between the Wild Life sanctuary.
The concerned Wild Life warden of North Kashmir,Rauf Zargar who though while talking to Early Times said that the area falls under the Wild Life sanctuary and construction of two roads in the area is going on without the all important "No Objection Certificate" (NOC) from his department to the concerned construction agencies and added that despite his personal interference in the matter which include stoping construction work twice in the area. However, he was contradicted by another Forest Department official posted as range officer in the area namely Peer Mushtaq Ahmad who on record said that he after coming to know about the construction of said roads launched a First Information Report (FIR) in the nearby police station against the concerned agencies, seized all the men and machinery and informed his highest officials in the department, however, because of some reasons better known to the concerned Wild Life warden FIR was withdrawn next day and he was asked to remain mum.
Another Forest official posted as Forestor in the limber area while reading a letter on record which he has send to his bosses mentions that on 7/11/2013 arround 12 am night sources informed his team that construction of a road has been started in the forest area falling under his jurisdiction and within no time he along with team reached to the area and seized men and machinery as well, however, after few days work on the same road was again started and matter is known to everybody in the department.
Sources said that since the construction work is going on the behest of Minister for Health Education Taj Mohi-ud-Din as he has funded for one of the roads from his Constituency Development Fund, thereby he is using all his political contacts to construct the road in between Wild Life sanctuary and is managing to silent even the concerned Wild Life officials as well.
Pertinently as the construction work on two roads in the area is going since 7/11/2013 as per one of the Forest officials quoted, Chief Wild Life warden of Kashmir division, Shuja Hyderi said that he was in Delhi from last four days and does not know anything about the matter, however, assured a strict action against anybody found involved in the matter within a time bound manner.
