Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 20: Will the forthcoming Lalkar rally of BJP in Jammu prove waterloo for a coterie of state leaders for some obvious reasons.....? If the whispers going on within rank and file of the party are any authentic indicators, the leadership is in for some deep trouble, thanks to the manoeuvrings and monopolizing tendencies of this coterie which in pursuit of their ambitions are ignoring all others including senior leaders in taking unilateral decisions for every step ahead of the mega event.
According to sources strong resentment is brewing in major chunk of the state unit unit as a group of select few, a coterie unto themselves have taken everything in their own hand with respect to gala preparations for the Lalkar rally to be addressed by the Prime Ministerial candidate of BJP Narendra Modi. Sources said while the Central leadership has given explicit instructions to make all out efforts and leave nothing to chance to make this event a grand success, entire affairs have been confined to a few people, who are taking all decisions and matters into their hand. Contrary to what has remained the tradition in such events, neither the senior leaders nor those who have first hand experience and knowledge of handling things for such rallies are not being consulted nor at any stage they have been taken into confidence by the said coterie which comprises some functionaries of the party.
Sources also confirmed that unilateral decisions have been taken while making orders for publicity material which form the key to initial preparations. In the posters, flags, stickers and even banners the pictures of only Modi and state president have been displayed, sources said adding that this has further fuelled anger and resentment among the party leaders who have sought the display of some stalwarts like late Pandit Prem Nath Dogra in the banners and posters as a mark of respect and rememberance for his contributions to the party.
However, in order to get the scene within the party polarised , some leaders have conveyed this story to Central leadership and urged them to take the cognizance at this initial stage or face negative consequences later. Sources also confirmed that having sensed repercussions of the complaints conveyed to New Delhi , the publicity material prepared so far may be dumped by the leadership for apparent reasons. The Central leadership is also understood to have directed the state leadership to take the views and suggestions of experienced and senior people for every step rather than ignoring them as what is being done at this stage. With this state of affairs as on date, all eyes are on how the angry leaders would project things and convey the cause of their resentment before JP Nadda, MP and incharge of the party who is arriving tomorrow in Jammu to take stock of preparations for Lalkar rally.
