| Traders hold protest against police at Pacca Danga | | | ET Report Jammu, Nov 20: Local traders today held protest demonstration against police after some police men from Pacca Danga police station summoned one Sanjeev Kohli at Pacca Danga Police Station for some legalities as a case stood registered against him.In reaction to police's summoning to the Sanjeev Kohli- a trader, the shopkeepers of Khilone Wali Gali came to road and held protest against police stating that his dispute with police was settled out amicably . The summoning of the trader Sanjeev Kohli dated back to the year 2011 when Sanjeev Kohli, owner of Vasu Textiles, had verbal duel with then I/CPP Chowk Chabotra Sohit Trikha while the duo was engaged in hot verbal dual Kohli was allegedly manhandled by some cops. This later sparked a strong resentment among other shopkeepers who held a demonstration at Pacca Danga following the manhandling of their fellow trader. However in due course of time, the said dispute was amicably settled after intervention of senior police officers and then I/CPP Chowk Chabutra who was transferred to GMC Police Post. The traders once again protested when some police men summoned Mr Kohli to report to Police Station for some legal formalities as a case against him is stood registered. Protestors alleged the police for harassing their colleague despite the issue has been settled and sought intervention of seniors police officials in this regard. |
