Sports Reporter JAMMU, Nov 20: The combined side of Post Graduate (PG) Departments lifted the inter-college women's hockey trophy beating defending champion, Government College for Women (GCW) Parade 2-1 in tie-breaker at University of Jammu (JU) grounds, here today. Tied at 1-1 draw in the stipulated time, PG Departments clinched the all important game in the penalty shootouts. Bhavana Koul was the lone scorer in tie breaker thus guided PG make it a 2-1 win. Earlier, in the given time, GCW Parade took the first lead with Krishna Sharma sounding the board in the 20th minute. However, the lead was soon equalized by PG Departments through Stanzin in the 22nd minute. In the final, veteran player and retired Physical Director, HSS Chib was chief guest, who presented winners' trophy to PG Departments. Director Sports and Physical Education, Prof Dhian Singh Bhau presided. The title clash was officiated by the technical penal including D Singh, Joginder Singh, Jasbir Singh and PD Singh. |
