Nehru, Wattal visit upcoming slaughter house at Jagti - Nagrota

Jammu, Nov 20: The Secretary to Govt. Housing & Urban Development Department Satish Nehru alongwith Commissioner, JMC, Kiran Wattal visited the site of upcoming Scientific Modern Abattoir (Slaughter House) at Jagti Nagrota to be constructed at the cost of Rs. 15.95 Crores under Centrally Sponsored Scheme.
It was informed that the construction work would be started soon and project shall be completed within one year
The Secretary was apprised that the Jammu Municipal Corporation has acquired 75 kanals of land from Jammu Development Authority for the project which shall be first of its type of Slaughter House in Jammu and shall have slaughtering capacity of One Thousand Sheep/Goats per day, both Jhatka and Halal, 500 each in two separate lines.
The Secretary instructed the JMC authorities to take up the base work immediately to speed up the installation of necessary infrastructure The Officers present during the tour were Jt. Commissioner (Works), Executive Engineer (T), Municipal Veterinary Officer, Chief Transport Officer and other members of Engineering Wing of JMC.
