| Sericulture employees hold protest, list demands | | | KATHUA, Dec 10 : To bring the long pending demands into the notice of higher-ups, the Sericulture Employees Union Kathua with the support of All Jammu and Kashmir Low Paid Employees Association staged a day long protest dharna here today. The dharna was led by leaders of employees union Suraj Parkash, Maqsood Khan and president of Low Paid Employees Association, Comrade Kabla Singh. In the dharna large number of employees sat on and raised slogans in the favour of their pending demands including provision of life insurance benefit to the employees of Sericulture who are on daily wages, to maintain the service book of daily wagers of the department and to enhance the salary of daily wagers up to 4500 rupees per month. While speaking on the occasion, these leaders urged the government to take sincere initiatives to meet out the genuine and justified demands of the employees. In this connection a memorandum was also submitted by the Employees Union to the higher authority through project officer of Sericulture. |
