| Mirwaiz now sees a ray of hope in Arvind Kejriwal | | Communal dimension of Kashmir | | Neha JAMMU, Dec 10: Self-styled freedom fighter and chairman of the All-Party Hurriyat Conference (HC) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Monday commended the performance of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the Delhi Assembly polls and termed its success as a "positive change". "This is a welcome change which has happened in the capital city of India. I congratulate Arvind Kejriwal of the AAP for his victory," Mirwaiz, who heads a group of nearly two dozen fanatics, self-seekers, rank opportunists and exploiters, told media persons on the sidelines of a photographic exhibition on the alleged human rights violations organized by the APHC-M. Earlier, during his seditious speech at the function of fanatics, Mirwaiz reportedly said, "We expect that the change of approach and thought in politics, as suggested by the AAP, will also be reflected in the thinking of India and its establishment over Kashmir." "More than the political (read patently sectarian) dimension Kashmir issue has a human side also, which needs to be addressed and taken into account (Underline the fact that he did not talk about the persecution of Kashmiri Hindus and their exodus from Kashmir in early 1990.) The Hurriyat expects parties like the AAP, espousing a positive mindset, to make people in India aware about the real picture of Kashmir (Kashmir is the most powerful, highly developed and highly prosperous region in the country.) and inform them about the sufferings of its people. We hope that the parties like AAP will come forward with a positive thinking for repealing black laws like the Armed Forces Special Powers Act. Kashmir struggle is a peaceful movement (read dreaded movement that targets the Indian nationalists and sufferers of the political system in the state) and we also want to carry it forward peacefully. It is better that India sheds its militaristic approach over Kashmir and comes forward with a political approach, so as to arrive at a solution," he also reportedly said. The Mirwaiz's praise for the AAP should not surprise anyone. For, the AAP is a formation over which the supporters and sympathizers of dreaded Maoist terrorists have deep influence. There are persons in the AAP who are known supporters of Syed Ali Shah Geelani and other separatists who openly support their demand seeking independence from India on religious grounds. In fact, some of the so-called leaders of the AAP are ultra-communal, who shamelessly espouse the cause of Kashmiri separatists. Take, for example, Supreme Court lawyer Prashant Bhushan. He has on a number of occasions supported the idea of Kashmir's separation from India for which he was roughed up and beaten up by young nationalists in New Delhi in his chamber sometime back. The approach of Yoginder Yadav, Sazia Ilmi, to mention only a few, towards Kashmir may not be any different considering their concept of India and on India and their belief in perverted secularism. The very fact that Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Shishodia, Kumar Biswas, Prashant Bhushan, Yoginder Yadav, Sazia Ilmi and so on operating from one platform with the likes of Kejriwal openly hobnobbing with the fanatics to garner their support should establish that there is much in the AAP that is undesirable. And it is this undesirable element in the AAP that enthuses the fanatics like Mirwaiz Umar Farooq. His good words for the AAP and Kejriwal should be taken to mean that he also sees in them a ray of hope. |
