Inner Call observes World Human Rights Day

Jammu, Dec 10: The Inner Call, Forum for Evolution, Development and Awareness today celebrated Human Rights Day at Banquet Hall, Jammu in which activists threw light on the importance of the day. A senior journalist was Chief Guest on this occasion.
While Welcoming the Guests, Chairperson, The Inner Call, Roma Wani underlined the essence of human rights and duties education awareness among common masses especially youth and students for lasting peace and equitable development in the world today. Roma Wani also spoke about evolution of natural rights since early times into human rights (UDHR) by United Nations, and their journey to post-independence India. Anuradha Bhasin, Executive Editor Kashmir Times, addressing the participants said "Right to life" is a moral principle based on the belief that a human being has the right to live and, in particular, should not to be unjustly killed by another human being. Affan Yesvi, Secretary, The Inner call gave an overview of role of "Information technology in Human Rights". He said, "We must utilize social networking to aware people about the human rights without forgetting our duties. He said Social media has the power to change the economical, social and political scenario". I D Soni who was guest of the honour on the occasion said that the youth in close association with constituted bodies and other human rights bodies can work together for raising awareness about human rights and duties.
Inam Un Nabi, Director Youth Affairs underlined the need of protection and promotion of human rights without forgetting the duties. Inam demanded to introduce the subject of human rights from the school level to onwards as a compulsory subject, so that coming generation could be made aware about their Fundamental Rights.
Romana Qadri briefed the audience about envisioning and implementation of human rights (International humanitarian law) and pertinence of celebrating human rights day. She said that we must start stopping violation from our home first.
