| DDC inaugurates two days employment fair, asks youth to avail benefits of Self Employment Schemes | | | Early Times Report
Doda, Dec 10 : DDC Doda Mubarak Singh asked youth of Trown to avail maximum benefits of various state and centrally sponsored self employment schemes while inaugurating a two days employment fair at Trown, that was organized by Deputy Director Employment Doda Shahida Parveen in collaboration with other line departments. Assistant Commissioner Development Doda, Rakesh Kumar, besides other District and sectoral officers were present on the occasion. While addressing the gathering, Singh impressed upon the youth of the area to come forward and take benefits of the self employment schemes and the opportunities being provided by the various Departments dealing in employment generation programmes. He also stressed upon the Sarpanches and panches of the area to disseminate information regarding various self employment schemes among the youth in their respective areas and motivate them to establish their own income generating units. He also said that loan and other technical assistance is being provided to the intending candidates by the Employment and other sister departments for establishing their self employment units. During the fair various stalls were established by different department of Health‚ Social Welfare‚ District Industries Centre Doda, Handlooms, Agriculture, Horticulture, Handicrafts ‚ Fisheries, J&K SC/ST/OBC Development Corporation, Sheep and Animal Husbandry‚ Sericulture‚ Army, Jammu and Kashmir Bank and other line departments. Deputy Director Employment Doda Shahida Parveen while speaking on the occasion said that the employment fair is a part of government initiative to create massive awareness among educated youth about the SKEWPY (Sher-e-Kashmir Employment and Welfare Programme for youth) and other self employment schemes initiated by the State and Central Government for benefit and welfare of unemployed educated youth of the District. She said that SKEWPY scheme also envisages overseas employment avenues‚ Voluntary Service Allowance (VSA) ‚ and skill upgradation for effectively tackling growing unemployment among the youth. A colorfull culture programme was also organized in which large number of school children also participated that kept the audience spell bound. Earlier, DDC after inaugurating the employment fair inspected stalls established by various Departments. |
