| 2 years imprisonment to driver in negligent driving case | | | | JAMMU, Jan 2: 2nd Additional Munsiff Aarti Mohan has awarded two years imprisonment and fine Rs 5000 to Rakesh Singh who was facing trial for the last 8 years in rash and negligent driving in which one lady was killed. According to the police case that on January 30, 2005 police received information that a truck from Srinagar to Jammu hit a van and the passengers sitting in the van were grievously injured out of which one person namely Veena Kumari died due to the injuries sustained by her. A case under section 279/337/304-A RPC and after completion of investigation challan was presented. After hearing, Senior PO Puja Nijhon, 2nd Additional Munsiff Aarti Mohan observed that the accused was driving truck negligent and rash manner that he caused accident thereby resulting in death of one Veena Devi and sentenced him to two years imprisonment and fine Rs 5000.
