| Madan Lal reviews NRHM status in Samba | | | early times report SAMBA, Jan 2 : To review the performance of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), a meeting of District Level Vigilance and Monitoring Committee was held under the chairmanship of Member Parliament, Madan Lal Sharma today at Samba. Member Legislative Assembly, Samba, Yash Paul Kundal, District Development Commissioner, Samba, R K Varma, Additional District Dev. Commissioner Samba, Assistant Commissioner Development, SE Hydraulics Circle Jammu, Chief Planning Officer, Chief Medical Officer Samba and other concerned officers attended the meeting. The meeting reviewed the physical and financial status of several components of NRHM under implementation in the district for quality health care of the people. Speaking on the occasion, Madan Lal urged upon the district administration and officers of health authorities for strict implementation of all components of NRHM for the benefit of the people of the area. He directed that the targets fixed for strengthening health infrastructure and human resource in the district under NRHM should be achieved in full in time bound manner. He instructed concerned authorities for consultation of concerned MLAs and PRIs while formulating action plans for upgrading health infrastructure in different areas under NRHM. Underlining the need for making people in rural areas aware regarding various components of NRHM, Mr. Sharma exhorted upon the field functionaries to work with a missionary zeal and dedication so that the ultimate aim of the mission is achieved. MLA, Samba Yashpaul Kundal also spoke on the occasion and asked for better medical facilities to remote and far- flung areas in District Samba and also demanded for opening of new sub centres in these areas. On the occasion detailed overview of health sector of district through a PowerPoint presentation was given by the concerned authorities. It was informed that 3465 mother were covered under Janani Suraksha Yojana and Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakaram for free treatment besides financial assistance. 3450 pregnant women registered for Ante Natal Checkup upto Dec.2013. The meeting was informed that against the total allocation of Rs. 2.85 crore, Rs. 2.41 crore have been expended on upgradation of health care facilities in the district. |
