| RTI activist approaches CIC against AAP | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 2: A compliant to the Central Information Commission was today filed by RTI activist Deepak Sharma, against recently flouted Aam Aadmi Party for not providing information under RTI Act . Deepak said that as per the recent order passed by CIC to bring political parties under the ambit of RTI act, he had filed an RTI application to Aam Aadmi party for information regarding income made from all sources and constituency wise expenditure details made by Aam Aadmi Party. Apart form the details the activist under the provisions of the RTI act has also requested for permission to inspect the income receipts and constituency wise expenditure bills of Aam Aadmi Party in the recently held assembly elections in Delhi. The activist said that amount worth Crores is being spent by various political parties during election campaigns but as per the Election Commission of India a political party can spend a maximum of Rs. 16 lacs only in a single constituency for assembly elections. By filing RTI to Aam Aadmi Party his purpose was to know the adherence of the Aam Aadmi Party in regard to the constituency wise expenditure limit fixed by Election Commission. Expressing displeasure over Aam Aadmi Party for not providing the information, the activist said that it is unfortunate that those claiming to bring and support the RTI act, themselves shy away when the same is used for asking any information from them.
