Jammu, Jan 25 (JNF): Principal Sessions Judge Kathua AK Koul acquitted seven accused who were facing trial in attempt to murder case on land dispute as prosecution failed. The seven accused facing trial in murder attempt who got acquittal from court here today included namely Ram Lal, Jodh Singh Both sons of Basant Singh, Balbir Chand, Raghbir Chand and Surjeet Singh sons of Amar Nath, Basant Singh S/o Waryam, Mst Puro Devi W/o Basant Singh All residents of Haria Chak, Tehsil Hiranagar District Kathua Principal Sessions Judge Kathua AK Koul after hearing both the sides and also gone through the statements of witnesses held that the only conclusion that emerges is that the role of accused, is fully covered by right of private defence, and so the guilt cannot be fastened on them. 'The case as such fails and is accordingly dismissed and the accused accordingly are acquitted, court said. According to the police case on 30/05/04, the complainant were cultivating their field at 10.00 am, when accused armed with laties, sharp edged weapons, came on spot and assaulted their victims. Police had registered a case and after completion of investigation presented challan in the court of law. |
