Kishtwar, Jan 25: A deputation of Chinar Power Projects Workers Union (CPPWU) District Kishtwar led by its Chairman Joginder Bhandari today called on Minister of State for Home Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo at his Kishtwar residence and discussed various demands related to the absorption of local unemployed youths of District Kishtwar in power projects to be constructed in Kishtwar District. Bhandari informed the Minister that the Management of GVK Power Development and M/s L&T engaged for the execution of 850 MW Rattle HEP are engaging persons from outside the state and ignored the local youths. He also informed the minister and alleged that some persons are collecting money from the youths for their adjustment in the said project. He demanded the adjustment of one family member of land owner whose land has come under the said project, beside their salaries at par with NHPC employees. Minister assured the deputation that local unemployed youths would be given top priority of employment in the said project for which he has directed the management of GVK and L&T to recruit local unemployed youths in the project. He also informed the deputation that the work on 1000 MW Pakal-Dool project will be started in the month of April 2014. Those who accompanied the delegation includes Mohammad Khalil Tapal, Mohammad Amin Butt, Basheer Ahmed Khan, Anil Sharma, Khursheed Ahmed Sheikh, Abdul Qayoom Khan, Masood Ahmed, Nissar Ahmed, Mohammad Maqbool, Imran Ahmed, Muneer Ahmed, Bilal Ahmed Butt and others. |
