State Congress directed to 'sell' creation of new administrative units
Soz, Azad to address gatherings jointly

SRINAGAR, Jan 25: As the Cabinet Sub Committee (CSC) for creation of new administrative units is scheduled to submit its report on February 1, the State Congress leadership according to sources have been directed to sell creation of new administrative units among the common masses ahead of Parliamentary and Assembly elections. Besides, Ghulam Nabi Azad and Saif-ud-Din Soz have also been asked to jointly aggress public rallies in the state.
The analytical report based on demand of creation of new administrative units in the state according to one senior Congress leader is an opportunity which coalition Government wants to grab to gain political mileage at a time when both Congress as well as National Conference (NC) are losing support thick and fast.
He said that keeping in view the changing political atmosphere and future strategies, State Congress leadership was directed from Delhi to independently sell creation of 1000 administrative units in a programmed manner without any involvement of NC Ministers during their public meetings and involve whole Congress leadership including two senior members of State Congress, Ghulam Nabi Azad and Saif-ud-Din Soz.
Besides selling administrative units, Ghulam Nabi Azad and Saif-ud-Din Soz who are likely to address gatherings jointly in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh divisions from the second week of February might make more fresh announcements of developmental projects and can nominate new faces likely to contest 2014 Assembly elections from different constituencies of the state, said a senior leader on condition of anonymity.
He said that repeated delay in presenting CSC report before the Chief Minister which is getting amended since 2007 is actually a game plan of some politicians from both NC and Congress who want to set up new administrative units in their constituencies for greater political mileage and added that with the creation of new administrative units, around 5000 posts of employees need to be filled and such an announcement must not accredit NC only, so keeping in view all such factors, Congress leadership is more than keen to take its share of political gain.
Pertinently as reported earlier, State Government in 2007 had constituted a committee headed by then Chief Secretary S.S Biloria to formulate a report based on demand of new administrative units across the state, but later when coalition Government took charge of State administration, its report was termed inconclusive and in 2010 State Government made another committee headed by Mushtaq Ahmad Ganai.
