Six die in separate incidents in Jammu

Jammu, Jan 25: Six persons reportedly were killed in separate incidents at different places on Saturday across the Jammu city, police sources said. Police sources said that two personnel of '17 miles' hotel were found dead under mysterious circumstances in the hotel premises. The deceased have been identified as Mushtaq Ahmed son of Putto resident of Tikri and Ajay Kumar son of Rattan Chand resident of Majalta.
Police sources said that bodies of duo were recovered from ladies changing room. After getting the information police reached the spot and shifted bodies to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) for autopsy. A case stands registered in this regard and investigation is on.
Meanwhile, a middle aged man committed suicide jumping from Tawi Bridge at Bikram Chowk.
The identity of the deceased has been established as Vijay Sharma son of Shanti Sawroop a resident of Buta Nagar, Paloura. Eyewitness said that the deceased parked his scooter at Tawi Bridge and all of sudden jumped into the river Tawi from the bridge. After getting the information, police rushed to the spot and shifted victim to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) where he was declared as brought dead.
Yet in another similar incident, a 49 year-old man was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Rehari locality of Jammu city. The deceased has been identified as Rakesh Kumar Kohli son Ram Nath of City Chowk presently at Rehari Colony. "Noticing him in unconscious condition, his wife immediately shifted him to GMC&H where he was declared as brought dead, police sources said.
Meantime, a 24 year-old youth allegedly committed suicide by hanging self at his residence in Satwari, this afternoon.
"Identified as John Francis son of Jorge Frank of Satwari was found hanging at his residence", said a police official adding that the body was shifted to the mortuary of GMC&H. After legal formalities the body was handed over to family members for last rites. In another incident, a aged (70) year-old road accident victim succumbed at GMC&H where he was being hospitalized. The deceased has been identified as Raj Singh son of Jasmeet Singh of Hira Nagar. Police said the deceased received injuries on January 23 when he was hit by a motorcycle. Police have registered all the cases at concerned police stations and started investigation.
