| Medical Fraternity wears black bands in protest against delayed Justice | | | | Srinagar: Joint Amalgam of Doctors and Paramedical Associations comprising of various associations namely Field Doctors Welfare Association Kashmir, Health and Family Employees Welfare Confederation, Society Of Consultant Doctors, JK Dental Surgeons Society, JK State Contractual Doctors Association, NRHM Doctors (MBBS & AYUSH) Association, Doctors and Patients Welfare Association today demonstrated against the govt's failure to nab and arrest the culprit in the molestation case by wearing black bands for the whole day across various hospitals of the valley. The protestors at various district institutions raised voices against the callous attitude of the Govt. in handling this grave issue. We will firmly stand behind our colleague till justice is not delivered. It seems the ex-minister has been provided hideout by the govt. itself as otherwise a man living under security cover cannot give an easy slip to state police. His hunt under the purview of non bailable warrant has become more difficult than African Safari thus making the judicial institutions instructions mere meaningless. Kashmiris have suffered when it comes to delivery of justice as different yardsticks are applied here. The amalgam is now forced to agitate to drag the attention of national democratic institutions to secure justice for the victim. The amalgam via this press release warns the govt. that if the culprit is not arrested immediately without any cosmetic delay which is evident the amalgam will expedite the ongoing agitation with closing of health offices and hospitals excluding emergencies from 1 o'clock tomorrow. Future strategy will be decided in the preceding meeting of the amalgam tomorrow. |
