| NSF to protest outside Raj Bhavan against 'favoritism in CUJ' | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 12: National Secular Forum (NSF) today declared that it would launch series of protests against the irregularities and favoritisms in the appointments of central university. The forum announced that it would stage a sit-in outside the Raj Bhawan to seek the attention of the Governor N N Vohra, who is the Chancellor of Jammu Central University. Alleging nepotism and favoritisms in the campus, besides appointment of incompetent/ overaged officers on key positions in the administration, the organization leaders resolved that they will continue to struggle till the demands are met. In a press conference Sukhdev Singh President NSF, said, "It was shocking that the Vice-Chancellor has appointed Professor N R Sharma as first Dean Students Welfare (DSW) of the varsity who has been over-aged retired professor and the said post of DSW is equivalent to an administrator. "As per the Central University Statutes, DSW officer should not be above 62 years but the VC has recruited Professor N.R.Sharma as DSW who is above 65years," he said. In the process, all deserved candidates were ignored. This is not an isolated case but the varsity has become a rehabilitation center for retired and corrupt officials, he lamented. The Chancellor should take serious note of it and should remove all such blue eyed immediately to restore the credibility of this prestigious institution, the NSF chief demanded. |
