Jammu, Feb 12: National Conference Minority Cell President S Harmohinder Singh has hailed the decision of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Supremo and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for holding a probe by SIT(Special Investigation Team) in the November 1984 Anti Sikh riots. Hoping justice to the riot victims, Singh said, "Even the ten (10) commission have been appointed by erstwhile central governments at Delhi, their recommendations were kept reserved time and again to hoodwink the masses in general and minorities in particular, shielding the bigwigs. "They (the alleged bigwigs) frequently intimidate the witnesses or whistle blowers, he added. He said, "Sikh community is sanguine about ray of hope that justice will prevail, those roaming with impurity under full political patronage will be put behind the bars. Sikh community has extended their resolve to fight for justice by strengthening the hands of secular minded CM Arvind Kejriwal and his team. Meanwhile NC Minority Cell leader also has appealed to the central government and heads of other states viz Delhi, Haryana, Bihar, MP, UP and Jammu where such carnages took place in 1984 to initiate the enquiries so that killers can be apprehended and put behind bars. He also urged to chief minister Omar Abdullah to implement Ansari Commission's report soon which already strands delayed by 25 years since Jan1989. He also demanded valley massacres like Pathribal fake encounter case, Wandhama, Mehjoor Nagar should be probed by SIT so as to strengthen the secular forces of country. Among those present in this meeting were Er Daljeet Singh, S Mohinder Singh, S Harcharan Singh Wazir, Ramesh Chander Gupta, Dr Mohan Lal Thussu, Sunita Dogra and S Inder Singh. |
