Sham assures strict action against erring PHE officials

JAMMU, Feb 12: Minister for PHE Sham Lal Sharma today took serious note of issue raised by National Conference (NC) leader Dr. Bashir Ahmad Veeri in the legislative council, assuring him of taking fixing responsibility if his complaint was found correct after ground verification.
Replying to a Calling Attention Notice given by Dr Bashir Ahmad Veeri in the Legislative Council today Minister for PHE Sham Lal Sharma informed the House that the pipe network in Bijbehara town is functioning satisfactorily and occasional leaks are immediately plugged. He said network of pipes has been laid from time to time in the whole town.
He added that to further improve the overall pipe network in Bijbehara, a scheme has been taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 280 Lakh under State sector with LIC loan assistance for which the first instalment of Rs 47 Lakh has been received during the current year. Minister added that the received amount of Rs 47 lakh has been spent on repairs/improvement of flocculater, Jacketing of SR on Karwa, replacement of old machinery and laying of pipe line within the Town.
