| Govt claims on its performance 'ridiculous, farcical' : Harsh | | Coalition needs to do some self-introspection on its performance | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Feb 12 : Lambasting the present regime, Harsh Dev Singh NPP MLA and Leader of Panthers Legislature Party today criticized the State govt for its loud pronouncements, tall claims, airy slogans and exaggerated dissonance without showing any corresponding tangible output on the ground. He said that the Govt. needs to do some self-introspection on the subject of its performance and delivery as in public perception it had proved to be a failure. The government is indulging in hypocritical self praise and self adulation without delivering anything practically, he said. Speaking in the Legislative Assembly during "discussion on Governor's Address", he said that the State govt. is thriving on false propaganda and media publicity with a complete mismatch between its rhetoric and delivery. He flayed the so called achievements of the govt which had no visible impact and utterly failed to impress. Urging upon the govt to refrain from rhetorical overtures, Singh drew the attention of the govt towards utterly poor physical delivery which has created great dis-enchantment amongst the masses. Scoffing at the loud exhortations of the state govt. and its supercilious claims, NPP MLA Harsh observed that there were hardly any development signs discernible on the ground. Mocking the tall claims, he alleged that govt. is being run on the strength of press notes and advertisements issued by government department and drum beating and photos sessions of Ministers organized by the information Department. Alleging total failure of Central Schemes including RMSA, UIDSSMT, IHSDP, PMGSY, PYKKA, NRHM, he said that the state has been declared a tail-ender in the implementation of majority of them. He said that the Govt. needs to do some self-introspection on the subject of its performance and delivery as in public perception it had proved to be a failure. Singh said at occasions the coalition partners were diametrically opposed to each other on several issues and had divergent perceptions on various matters of public interest. Singh flayed the govt. for its failure to hold elections for Urban Local Bodies and for the constitution of Block Development Councils and District Planning Boards under the Panchayati Raj Act. He also pleaded the cause of PoK and Pak refuges, migrants of Jammu region and bad pockets areas of the state. Seeking review of the creation of new administrative units, he urged for doing justice with the left over areas and sought creation of tehsil for Jandrah, Purmandal, Budhal, Duggan and Malhar; Blocks for Sudh Mahadev; Sub Division for Jindrah and Bishnah and naibats for Gandh Top and Kud. |
