| Thief held with stolen 860 grams ornaments, Rs.2,15,000 | | | Et Report Jammu, Feb 12 : Domana police today claimed to have arrested the thief and recovered stolen gold ornaments weighing around 860 grams along with cash Rs 2,15,000 from his possession. Addressing a press conference at Domana police station, SP Rural ML Kaith flanked by SDPO Domana Sanjay Parihar and Inspector Vijay Choudhary SHO Domana said that on February 2, a written complainant was lodged at Pouni Chak police post by one Atul Puri wherin he stated that he is gold a smith by profession and is running a goldsmith shop at Gho Manhasa. He further said that one Shanker Parmanik of Chak Sultan, District Madnia West Bangal was working with him for last 12 to 13 years and all the keys of shop were used to be with him. Sp further said that according to complainant, on January 31, he closed the shop properly and keys as always were lying with him. Next morning complainant found that Shanker Parmanik was not present in his room. He made searches at his own but all in vain. He opened the shop with spare keys and found that the above said Shanker Parmanik has taken away golden ornaments weighing around One Kg and huge amount of cash. Acting on the complaint, a case was registered at Domana police station under relevant sections of law and police swung into action.The investigation was entrusted to SI Shamim Ahmed, in-charge police post Pouni Chak and during the course of investigation, IO made his best efforts and apprehended the accused from Chak Sultan District Madnia West Bangal within four days and recovered golden ornaments weighing 860 grams and cash worth Rs.2,15,000 from his possession. Further investigation is going on. |
