| New faces, surprises likely during LA elections | | | Javaid Naikoo
Jammu, Mar 1: New political parties, independent candidates and village heads according are likely to contest the forthcoming parliamentary elections. New political parties which include 'AWAMI AWAZ' formed under the supervision of former Registrar of Kashmir University and comprising professors and doctors are figuring out 25 candidates to contest the forthcoming assembly elections. Sources said that core members of the party are likely to visit Delhi and other states to merge with a national party that can finance their campaigning during the elections. Apart from Awami Awaz, many independent candidates are also likely to contest across Kashmir. Some of them are likely to contest against Taj Mohi-ud-Din, Shafi Uri and Ghulam Hasan Mir. Likewise in Srinagar city new faces are gearing up to contest from Habba Kadal,Rainawari, Sonawar and Dargah constituencies as well and most of them by national conference solely to maintain supremacy in Srinagar city. At least 20 village heads from AJKPC are ready to try their luck. Sources said that village heads led by AJKPC are also approaching people outside state these days to get financial assistance. The AJKPC may also announce a new political party in Kashmir and contest assembly elections on most of the seats across Jammu and Kashmir. Apart from independents and new political parties, Bhartiya Janata party has also geared up to include many new faces from Kashmir. |
