| Anil Gupta to contest from Doda-Udh Parliamentary constituency | | | Et Report
Jammu, Mar 1: Jammu Kashmir Democratic Front (JKDF) today announced its first candidate for the Lok Sabha elections and fielded Party President Anil Gupta from Doda Udhampur Parliamentary constituency. This was announced after a meeting of the JKDF Parliamentary Board headed by Anil Gupta in which besides Anil Gupta other members of Parliamentary Board namely Munish Gupta (Retd Session Judge), Engineer Narayan Singh Jamwal, Ashok Gupta, Murari Lal, Surinder Sharma and Ram Kumar were present. After the detailed deliberations on current political scenario and forthcoming Parliament elections it was unanimously decided by the Parliamentary Board to field Anil Gupta as a Party candidate from Doda-Udhampur Constituency. "Anil Gupta is associated with Doda Udhampur Constituency since more than two decades during the period when former Union Minister Prof Chaman Lal Gupta represented the constituency thrice, members observed. Recalling the role of Prof Gupta in "Doda Bachao Andolan" to counter evil designs and other developmental works in parliamentary segment, the members finalized the name of Anil Gupta as the first Candidate of Party from Doda-Udhampur Parliamentary Constituency. |
