| Shastri urges CM to release pending installments of DA | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 2: Emphasizing on the need for early release of 10 % DA due from January last, President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri today urged upon the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to announce and release the pending installment of Dearness allowance in the ensuing cabinet meeting as the same has already been released by the Central Government to its employees and pensioners.
Addressing a rally of NMC workers at Village new plot Salehar near border town Arnia, Shastri said that the State Govt. Should take decision in this regard before the enforcement of model code of conduct in view of forth coming lok Sabha election to catch up to the employees of the Central Govt. and pensioners who have already been given this installment recently. He said that early release of DA would be the genuine measure to provide some financial relief to employees and pensioners Provision for such expenditure has already exists in the current financial year budget estimates, he added Shastri, however ,expressed his concern over the non merger of 50% DA in the basic pay and pension when DA has touched 100% mark adding that the Central Govt. should merge50% DA in the basic pay and pension without any delay Shastri said that neither taking any decision by the Central Govt. for granting 20%interim relief to their employees and pensioners nor increasing the minimum wages of daily rated workers to rupee ten thousand month Pleading the cause of employees and pensioners, Shastri also demanded enhancement of medical allowance to rupee one thousand per month beside immediate release of 3rd installment of 6th pay commission arrears as rising prices of all essential commodities had made the life of salaried class and pensioners very miserable. Stressing on the need on formulation of comprehensive policy about the regularization of daily wagers casual and seasonal labour serving in various Govt. departments, Shastri further demanded early amendment in SRO 64. |
