| MCC violations: Police registers case against JKDF Chief | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 18: Police today booked JKDF candidate contesting from Kathua Udhampur Lok Shaba seat, Anil Gupta alias Anu Gupta for preventing Assistant Returning Officer (ARO) to discharge his duties. As per police sources, following information about the movement of vehicle of JKDF member (Anu Gupta) carrying party posters and flags, Assistant Returning Officer (ARO) Rajesh Kumar Sawant reached the spot and inquired about the permission for the same. However the Anu Gupta and his supporters got irritated over the inception and entered into argument with ARO who tried to pacify the agitated JKDF members that he was performing his duties. Reports said the JKDF activists including Anu Gupta even have misbehaved with the ‘officer on duty’ and also deterred him to discharge his duty. “Later, the ARO complained the mater to SHO Gandhi Nagar and Chief Election Officer (CEO) for further action, police said. Meanwhile Police confirmed that acting on the complaint from ARO, a case against FIR 57/14 u/s 353 and 506 of RPC has been registered at Gandhi Nagar Police Station. “Police also seized two vehicle bearing registration numbers JK14A-6710 and JK02AW-8195 along with 3000 posters of JKDF party,” police said. |
