Jammu, Mar 18: Members of Major Rohit Memorial Trust, led by Ali Mohammad Mir, Chairman, called on N.N. Vohra, Governor, here at Raj Bhavan, today. On this occasion, the Governor released two research publications- Ethno-Medico-Botany of Wetland Plants and Ornamental & Divine Botany, written jointly by Nazak Hussain Shah and Syeeda Mahmud, both of whom are teachers at the Higher Secondary School, Mandi. The members of the Trust presented a copy of each book to the Governor. They requested the Governor for facilitating the creation of Yatra related facilities for the convenience and smooth conduct of the pilgrimage to Baba Budda Amarnath in Poonch district; sought his guidance for organizing the Pir Panchal Cultural Festival; apprised him about the aspirations of the local people regarding the creation of new administrative units and delimitation of Assembly Constituencies; and enhancement in the connectivity related infrastructure with the other districts of Jammu and Kashmir. The Governor assured the members of the Trust to take up the issues raised by them with the concerned authorities. Among others, the Trust was represented by, Prof. Syed Musarraf Hussain Shah, Syed Aftab Hussain Shah, Prof. Mohammad Saleem Wani, Alhaaj Ghulam Haider, Syed Abid Hussain Shah and Alhaaj. Ghulam Nabi Sheikh. Navin K. Choudhary, Principal Secretary to the Governor was present on the occasion. |
