| Militancy victim goes psychic for want of treatment | | | MS Nazki
Mendhar, May 5 : Militancy victim Mohammad Ikhlaq who had severed bullet injuries was last attended by Indian Army in 2004 and was helped with a sum of Rs 50, 000 for the construction of a house and was operated upon with the help of Joint Specialist Dr. Surinder of the SDH Rajouri. "Thirty five years old, son of Lal Din, resident of Kanaiti, Banola Mendhar received a bullet injury on his shoulder during tensions in the town in 2002. Following this, 39 Rashtriya Rifles of Indian Army came to help this youth and operated him with the help of a doctor at Sub District Hospital Rajouri", Ikhlaq's brother Hukum Dad told Early Times. "After about 4 years, Ikhlaq felt pain in the shoulder and after consulting doctors at SDH Mendhar, I was asked by the doctors to re-treat him and implant fresh shoulder brass replacing the old one but for want of money, I could not operate him", added his brother. He further added that he made all attempts and requested all social organisations including NGOs but all vain as no one nodded for the help and with the passage of time, his brother developed some mental disorders. "Ikhlaq can be seen on the streets and roads teasing the regular passerby and subsequent attempts of police to stop him with lathis but no one has any treatment for my brother after Indian Army", lamented Hukum Dad. |
