| Snooping case provides NC opportunity to extend olive branch to "infuriated" Modi | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 5: The "clever' leadership of National Conference (NC) has started the efforts to mend ways with "annoyed" BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, to whom NC leadership has, day in and out, tried to demonize during the campaign in the State. NC leadership was very much aware that Modi was annoyed over "BJP voters should drown into the sea" remark of Dr Farooq Abdullah so party want to rectify this blunder. NC leadership, which was desperately looking for an opportunity to improve relations with Narendra Modi, got the opportunity when UPA Government had announced to appoint a judge to inquire into alleged snooping of a female by Modi. NC leadership realized that it was the best opportunity to reach out to Modi so Chief Minister Omar Abdullah availed this opportunity and opposed decision of the UPA Government. Omar Abdullah opposed the move to appoint a judge in the "dying hours" of the Government and tried to send a positive message to Modi. Omar Abdullah said if the decision to appoint a judge could not be taken in December then it was wrong to appoint one five months later. Omar tweeted on Monday: "Was talking to my dad last night and he felt the same way - setting up a commission of inquiry in the dying hours of UPA-II is just wrong". "If the decision to appoint a commission was taken in Dec it should have been implemented. To appoint a judge 5 months later is wrong". Credible sources said that NC leadership has taken decision to support Modi on snooping case was part of well thought strategy as party leadership had earlier decided that positive messages should be given to Modi just before complete of the election campaign in Jammu and Kashmir. The clever NC leadership has loudly raked up anti-Modi sentiments in Kashmir valley during the election campaign but a day before completion of the election campaign NC extended olive branch to Narendra Modi to open channel of communication with BJP. It is observed that NC leadership has realized that Congress is not going to form Government so party has decided to keep BJP in good humour also. |
