| Scouts & Guides camp concludes at Model Academy | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 16: The Scouts and Guides wing of Model Academy in association with Jammu and Kashmir Bharat Scouts and Guides Association organized a four day Praveshand Pratham Sopan Camp at Model academy concluded today. As many as 120 scouts and guides cadets of four prominent schools of the state namely, Jodhamal Public school, St. Peters School, Diwan Badri Nath school and Model Academy school participated. The objective of the programme was to create social awareness and instill values among the youngsters that would mould them into responsible citizens. The camp was inaugurated by Dr. Chitra Mishra, Principal Model Academy. She blessed the Scouts and Guides and wished for the growth of the movement. During the camp students were given training according to the prescribed course. The students were apprised of the basic things for which scouting stands for and they took keen interest in all the activities conducted during the training days. Dr. Adit Gupta, Joint Director MIER and Rupa Gupta, Management Representative were the Chief Guests on the closing day. Usha Gadoo, Vice-Principal of the school was also present. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Gupta appreciated the endeavour of the movement in providing right type of education and making the young scouts and guides physically fit, morally sound, spiritually awakened, mentally alert and ethically strong. |
