| 3 brothers held for allegedly rape, thrashing others | | | Early Times Report
Mendhar, July 2: Mendhar police today claimed to have arrested three brothers for allegedly raping a woman and thrashing two others who tried to rescue the victim from their clutches. According to police sources, a 35 year-old woman of Ghani, Mendhar under routine affairs went for cattle grazing nearby forest area where she allegedly was raped by one Mohammad Sharfat of Gani, Mendhar. "As the victim raised alarm attracting attention of two women namely identified as Parwez Akhter and Jaitun Bi who came for her rescue but reportedly has been beaten by Sharafat and his two brothers identified as Mohammad Liaquat and Mohammad Showkat come to the help of his brother Sharafat, sources added.
Police sources said, "The rape victim received multiple fractures at his right arm while she was stabbed near left shoulder by Sarafat whereas the other two women who come to rescue of rape victim were also beaten up by the trio and while the dog of rape victim was also killed by the accused in a fit of anger." Police sources further said that after hearing the screams of three women, locals rushed to their rescue and overpowered the assailants. "After getting the information, police reached the spot and shifted all the injured women including rape victim to hospital while their assailants have been booked. Police said that rape victim Parwez was referred to SDH Mendhar for advance treatment. Meanwhile a case under relevant sections has been registered against accused and further investigation is on. |
