7/2/2014 11:40:42 PM

Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, July 2: The Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to miss the lunch being hosted the Chief Minister. According to sources, the PM is not keen on any more one-on-one conversation with the CM.
Modi is scheduled to arrive in the State on July 4. He is schedule to inaugurate the Katra rail link and also Uri hydel project in Kashmir. The second programme was added at the last minute in his itinerary as he was earlier scheduled to move out of the Jammu without touching Kashmir.
The programme was added with a view that it could send message especially when the Modi has stated that he will carry forward the process of former Prime Minister AB Vajpayee on the Kashmir.
The CM's lunch was also an attempt by the CM to bridge the gaps with the Modi. The meeting was also an attempt to come into the good books of the PM, which is very important as Assembly elections are round the corner and NC had already got drubbing .
However, sources said the Modi declined the offer. The PM will have a group meeting with the Governor, CM and senior officials. It's aimed at sending the signal that he is not keen to have just working relations with the CM.
The PM is also annoyed over the fact that the CM had even passed a caustic remarks over the rail line to Katra saying that train will not go to Vaishno Devi shrine, which is 13-km from there.
The important message to the CM on how much distance PM wants to keep with him was given when he called on him in New Delhi. Omar was allowed meeting in a room reserved for formal meetings. In contrast, today the Rajasthan CM Vasundara Rajie Scindia called on the PM, she was taken in special room.
