Charas, poppy straw seized 7/28/2014 12:09:19 AM Kathua, July 27: Police here today claimed to have seized 23,500 kgs poppy straw with 750 gm charas from a truck. The truck (JKO8A 7151) was seized and inter-state narcotic smuggler Hardeep Singh, son of Bhajan Singh of ward No 8, Kathua, arrested. As per an official spokesperson, during search of the truck, police recovered 23,500 kgs Poppy Straw (Bhuki) and 770 gms of charas which was concealed in large plastic bags inside the cabin of the truck. The accused was transporting the contraband from Kashmir Valley towards Punjab.
