| PDP seeks proper arrangements for rain affected families | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 4: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has sought arragements of boarding, lodging arrangements for rain affected families. PDP leader Hamid Choudhary said that keeping in view the forecast about more incessant rains in days to come by weatherman and damages done to lives and property in Jammu and Kashmir, the coalition government must fan its rescue teams in all corners, take the help of Army and Air Force, put in place is Disaster Management Team and ask district administration to personally ensure evacuation of people living in danger zones to safer place. Blocked roads, broken and washed away bridges, collapsed houses and submerged colonies besides some religious places have all added to miseries of people in the entire state for which government must make necessary arrangements and ensure safety of people. Poonch, Srinagar and Rajouri are the worst affected areas where help has not reached yet, said People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader and Chief Election Coordinator for Jammu Province, Abdul Hamid Choudhary. The PDP leader said that it is predicted that more rains are likely to lash Jammu and Kashmir State during next three days and the government instead of issuing statements must act fast in evacuating people who are living in danger zones, personally. There are chances of flash floods in entire State including Ladakh region and mere statements won't help in saving lives of people. There are inputs that a Western disturbance over J&K State and its interaction with monsoon currents over North-West India is likely to affect the State fromWednesday to Saturdaywith occasional gaps and this deteriorating weather condition might trigger landslide or flash flood in vulnerable areas of the State. We have already lost over a dozen lives and Poonch and Rajouri districts are the worst affected areas where help must be dispatched immediately. |
