| DB disposes of Suo-Moto PIL regarding water crisis in Jammu | | | Jammu, Sept 4 : A Division Bench of State High Court Comprising Justice Virender Singh and Justice Tahsi Rabstan today disposed of Suo-Moto PIL regarding water crisis, on the assurance of Chief Engineer that 80% water supply had been restored yesterday and rest 20% water supply shall restored today.
Today when this PIL came-up for hearing, Chief Engineer PHE stated that PHE Workers Welfare Association' Strike has been suspended for a week's time and that the water supply in 80% area of Jammu town has been restored and he further stated that on account of damage of certain pipes and electric panels in some of the area's water supply was not restored till yesterday and is likely to be restored today positively as the restoring work for damage pipes is going on war footing. Upon this Division Bench appreciate the efforts made by Divisional Commissioner Jammu and Chief Engineer PHE Jammu in restoring the water supply without any waste of time and observed that the grievances of the public at large as projected in instant petition redressed and Sr. Adv MK Bhardwaj also satted that nothing survive in the petition for prosecuting further and Division Bench disposed of the PIL.(JNF) |
