Jammu, Nov 16: Citizen's Forum has expressed concern over exorbitant fee of Rs 5.00 lakhs for the membership of Jammu Tawi Golf Course club , fixed by Omar Abdullah government. In response to the letter of Secretary Jammu Tawi Golf Course Club, Soujanyay Sharma, who is also the Director Tourism Jammu, while confirming the permanent membership of R K Chadha, the President of Citizens Forum , the Secretary has demanded to deposit Rs.2.50 Lakhs as charges towards half the fee fixed as a senior citizen of the state. While during an Interview for membership of "JTGC" by The Commissioner Secretary tourism with R K Chadha it was thread bare discussed that Rs. 5.00 Lakhs membership fee was too exorbitant. Chadha told that the Commissioner was penalizing the Jammu people who were always considered as 2nd class citizen's of the state. It was also suggested that membership be started only after the completion of 18 holes and a full-fledged club, as was done in Royal Spring Golf Course in Srinagar. |
