Vijaypur, Nov 16: Criticizing Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) led NDA Government, contesting candidate of Congress party from Vijaypur assembly seat Manjit Singh today said that Modi Government 'deliberately' delayed the compensation package for Displaced Persons (DPs) by sending it back to State Government.
"The BJP government has been exposed with the rejection of package even as it was cleared by the State cabinet and sent to GoI," the Congress candidate said, while criticizing that the party has befooled the displaced persons.
He said "This relief package was meant for the state subject people who were in trouble from last six decades but the Union Government 'deliberately' delayed the process by resending the same," he added. Senior Congress leader said that the State Government following pressure from the Congress Ministers had given its nod in support of the displaced persons but it was unfortunately neglected for alleged political gains. He further said that the people have understood with this move of BJP that it did not want to resolve the concern of the displaced people instead it want to do politics with these people.
Earlier, he continued his election campaign in his constituency where he held series of public meetings and appraised people about the programmes and policies of the Congress party. He also highlighted the developmental works and schemes were taken up by the UPA Government.
“They (DPs) have faced problems from decades. They had a hope with the compensation package but it too was delayed for mere political motives which would not be fulfilled under such tactics,” he added. He maintained that the people should teach a lesson to such ‘anti- refugee and displaced persons’ policies of the BJP.Earlier, he continued his election campaign in his constituency where he held series of public meetings and appraised people about the programmes and policies of the Congress party.
