DDC reviews performance of banks | 16366 accounts opened under Jan Dhan Yojna | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Dec 31: District Development Commissioner Kishtwar, Mohammad Javed Khan today chaired a meeting of District Level Review Committee (DLRC) to review the performance of banks under Annual Credit Plan (ACP) for the quarter ending September, 2014. DDC while reviewing the progress under various government sponsored schemes like JKSES, KCC, etc called upon all line departments and banks to galvanize their efforts and give boost to rural credit dispensation. He asked the banks to extend soft loans to weaker sections and needy people, particularly in rural areas.The DDC said that housing, agriculture, education, micro and small scale enterprises should be given priority. He asked the sponsoring agencies to organize awareness camps in far- flung and remote pockets so that more and more people are educated, motivated and facilitated to initiate self employment enterprises. However, a joint task force of district officers and bankers to chalk out a detailed action plan for ensuring comprehensive financial inclusion in the district was also constituted during the meeting. The meeting was also informed that under Jan Dhan Yojna 16366 accounts have been opened during the quarter. LDM Kishtwar, Satish Gupta appraised the house that CD ratio of 23.80 percent was achieved during this quarter. He further informed meeting that new ATM machines with CCTVs are being installed in the town. |
