Poll mania: 69 file nominates for various posts to executive body Press Club

Jammu, Mar 30: A total 69 journalists today filed their nomination papers before the Chief Returning Officer for the elections of Managing Committee of Press Club of Jammu (PCJ) which are scheduled to be held on April 4. Chief Returning Officer, Senior Advocate B S Slathia informed that a total 69 journalist candidates have filed their nomination papers for different posts of the Managing Committee of Press Club of Jammu till the scheduled time for filling of nominations for various posts in executive committee. Accompanied by many journalist fraternity colleagues and friends, many senior and young journalists filed the nominations today at PCJ premises.
"Two senior journalists have filed nominations for the post of President, while six journalists have filed nominations for the post of Vice-President," said Chief Returning Officer Slathia and added that four candidates have submitted nominations for post of Secretary General while similar number of aspiring candidates filed for the post of 'treasurer." "Similarly, 35 senior and young faces from print and electronic media have filed nominations as a member to the executive committee, he said.
Slathia also said, the date of withdrawal of the nominations is fixed on tomorrow i.e. March 31, and scrutiny of nominations papers will be done on April 1 from 4 pm to 6 pm and polling will be held on April 4 which is scheduled from 11 am to 5 pm.
