Rashid's challenge on beef party receives Saffron brigade's backlash
Ravinder Raina leads team of BJP MLAs to thwart the 'ignoble deed'

Early Times Report
Srinagar, Oct 7: Situation turned volatile and highly charged up as chairs flew across and offensive abuses tossed at each other at MLA hostel Srinagar where Independent Langate MLA Sheikh Abdul Rashid had thrown a beef party that invited the saffron party's ire on the issue.
The party which was obviously in defiance to the High Court order directing implementation of provisions to ban beef was arbitrary, but was thrown by the MLA openly challenging the saffron brigade to come at fisticuffs between the both warring parties which resulted in great furor.
Immediately getting the information about Engineer Rashid openly throwing the beef party, Ravinder Raina, BJP MLA Nowshera and a hardcore former RSS pracharak led by five to six BJP MLAs forced their way into the party and came in ace-off with Abdul Rashid and other people attending the party.
Sooner the exchange of hot words turned into blows and fisticuffs and the Engineer Rashid and his men were forced to flee from the venue leaving the party behind.
"Sensing ignoble deed being committed by Abdul Rashid as he had earlier announced for the beef party, BJP MLAs Ravinder Raina, Shakti Parihar, RS Pathania, Rajeev Sharma, Kuldeep Raj and Neelam Langeh rushed to MLA Hostel Srinagar and strongly protested against the beef party. Though they were weakly resisted by the beef eaters on the occasion, the strong band of saffron brigade turned the tables upside down and threatened the people present on the occasion of dire consequences if they carried on with the beef party," sources privy to the MLA hostel said.
It was also informed that the security guard of the hostel too was roughed up by the angry MLAs who barged into the venue and challenged engineer Rashid and other beef eaters present on the occasion.
"Sensing trouble and finding himself standing flimsy grounds, MLA Langate who had dared the saffron brigade to organize the beef party was first to escape from the venue leaving other beef eaters in the lurch," said sources.
Meanwhile the BJP MLAs have lodged a strong protest against the open defiance of the court order against beef and have moved in to lodge the FIR against Engineer Rashid and his accomplices on the party.
Till filing of the report, the situation was reported to be tense in the MLA hostel Srinagar while the BJP MLAs were reported to be approaching the higher police officials to file FIR against Engineer Rashid for openly and brazenly violating the law of the land.
