SRINAGAR, Feb 25: Independent legislator from Langate constituency Engineer Abdul Rashid today created a flutter by playing a video in which Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) legislator from Nowshera, Ravinder Raina can be seen saying that some of the police officials are working as 'agents' of militants in the state.
Engineer Rashid played the video during a press conference here today. In the video Raina can be seen saying that some of the police officials are hand in glove with militant organizations and militants particularly in Nowshera and Sunderbani areas of Jammu province. The MLA Nowshera can be seen saying that these police officials are working for Pakistan in lieu of money.
"I have no hesitation in saying that there are some Pakistani elements in Jammu & Kashmir Police. These people receive money from ISI, ISIS and Pakistan and carry out the militant activities. These people are hand in glove with Jaish-e-Mohammad, Lashkar-e-Toiba and Hafiz Saeed. These receive money and carry out the militant activities particularly in the Nowshera and Sunderbani areas," says MLA Nowshera in the video. Raina identifies one of the police officers as ASP and says that this police officer is working as an 'agent' of ISI. He accuses ASP of carrying out action against the people who were protesting against Engineer Rashid's repeated condemnation of the country and its democratic symbols.
"ASP is an ISI agent. Had he not been an ISI agent then he would not have resorted to lathi-charge against the people who were holding tri-colour while protesting in peaceful manner over the entry of Engineer Rashid who is an anti-national.
Engineer Rashid is an anti-national since he abuses the country, tri-colour and puts Mother Cow always in bad taste," says Raina in the video.
When contacted the MLA Nowshera said that he has all the regards for the 'brave' jawans of Jammu & Kashmir who have ensured the dignity of the tri-colour even at the cost of their lives. He said that there are some 'black sheep' among the police department and they need to be identified so that action is taken against them.
"I have all the regards for brave jawans of Jammu & Kashmir Police. By virtue of their supreme sacrifices we have been able to uphold the tri-colour in the valley. They made all the attempts to ensure that the militants are defeated even at the cost of their lives. However, at the same time there are some anti-national and anti-social elements in Jammu & Kashmir Police. These officials are hand in glove with the anti-national elements," said Raina.
The MLA Nowshera said that incidents involving running away of the police personnel along with their weapons shows that there are anti-national elements in the Jammu & Kashmir police.
He said that most of these elements are found in Kashmir valley adding that such personnel are a blot on the democracy and an enquiry should be conducted against them.
"An enquiry should be conducted so that stern action is taken against such elements. It was due to the influence of such anti-national elements that no FIR was lodged against people who raised slogans against country and security forces while they were fighting militants at Pampore few days back. There are some loopholes in the system and these need to be checked at the earliest," said Raina.
