Early Times Report

Srinagar, Feb 25: Amid speculations and suspense over government formation, PDP president Mehbooba Mufti's hints to refit important party positions is giving sleepless nights to divisional, District and zonal Party heads these days.
Many zonal and District Party heads of PDP are busy in confirming their status from analysts, Journalists and people close to PDP president Mehbooba Mufti ahead of expected refitting in PPD in coming days.
Ananlysts and senior Journalists in Kashmir said that they are receiving calls from PDP zonal and District Presidents from last three days to know how they will be treated in expected refitting as per their sources and sought measures to surface in good notes of PDP President Mehbooba Mufti. Highly placed sources in PDP expect many changes in party positions as President Mufti is keen to proceed ahead with trustworthy team of part workers to curb lobbyism within party at its initial stage.
One top brass PDP leader wishing anonymity told Early Times that a new line of people in party particularly Abdul Rehman Veeri, Sartaj Madni, Altaf Bukhari, Basharat Bukhari, Muhammad Khursheed Alam and Nayeem Akhter who were considered as trustworthy of late Mufti Muhammad Sayeed are all set to shine on main roles in party with Mehbooba Mufti. He said that these people were very close to PDP founder Mufti Muhammad Sayeed and Mehbooba aware of their impartial close relationship with her father would plead with them to counter phobia of lobbyism which started sneaking in party from few corners after the demise of Mufti Muhammad Syed.
Sources said that internal bickering emerging in one corner of the party from some time is in the notes of every party personal and Mehbooba herself aware of the situation would use her trustworthy people to counter lobbyism for smooth functioning of PDP ahead.
Sources said Ministerial berths to newly inducted faces in previous government had ignited fire in one corner of the party and some senior members though tried their best to make divisions within party could not gather courage to do so during the lifetime of Mufti Muhammad Sayeed.
However, according to sources now when Mehbooba has to single handedly run party as President and at the same time may also sit on the chair of Chief Minister once they will form government with BJP, few party men already sowing seeds of lobbyism in party would love to grab opportunity to raise fingers on issues pertaining to party affairs and give birth to internal bickering.
Sources said that there will complete overhauling of party positions in which Mehbooba would change roles given to people earlier and she will give more than two portfolios to at least four trustworthy people who worked as Cabinet Ministers under late Mufti Muhammad Sayeed. Amid speculations and suspense over government formation, analysts believe that Mehbooba Mufti would join hands with BJP once again for government in Jammu and Kashmir to complete half way left developmental projects started by late Mufti Muhammad Sayeed.
