UDHAMPUR, Feb 10: The local villagers and school student from Rathian (Battal Balian) today held protest and blocked the road of Udhampur to Battal Balion one hour against increasing pollution level in the area by Red category industrial units. The people assembled on the main road near Industrial complex and started protest demonstration against the District Administration and District Industries department. They alleged that several cement and pesticide units installed in this area are creating massive pollution. The protesters side that this land taking by District Administration Udhampur 1975 for the purpose of Udhampur Railway Station, but shifting of the Udhampur Railway Station project the shift to Housing Colony project for any reason project Stop and 2001 District Administration handover to J&K Small Scale Industries Development Corporation Limited (SICOP). Hi said this land acquisition of 1975 and its payment given by land owners 1984 but State Government given very little money to land owners par kanal 4,000 to 7500, from beginning state government cheating the locals of the this Rathian aria. This Industries aria is Rathian village but it is called Battal Balian, village Battal Balian four kilometers away from the Rathian. |
