Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 16: The BJP is likely to reach out to its leaders are on being sidelined have been taking on the party even from public forum. The central leadership of the party is also contemplating to give them ministerial berth to placate them.
According to the sources with party now getting into the electioneering mode especially first with the Lok Sabha elections it need some old faces, who have been public life for quite long and have been ardent supporters of the party ideology, to do canvassing and generate public opinion in its favour.
"Leaders like Ashok Khajuria and even to an extent Sukhnandan have been ardent supporters of the party ideology. Khajuria, especially, has been the face of the party in the state and if he says something serious about the party it could have an effect against us and could be use by our political opponents so we have to reach out to them by all means," said the sources
The sources said that party central leadership has been in talks with the Khajuria and there is chance that he could be given some ministerial berth. The talks are also on bringing back Sukhnandan to the ministry.
"The performance of some of the ministers have been dismal to say the least. Health, PHE and Forest ministries are glaring examples where nothing has been done. We need some fresh faces and why not given them a chance," said the sources.
The sources said there are also talks going on to bring new faces into the ministry as this the only thing party believes it can do change the tide of negative perception about its ministers.
The sources said there a chance new face may be inducted from the Doda region
"The final decision will be taken by the Central leadership only after the state election in Tripura and Nagaland are over. Though, a consensus on these lines has already emerged," said the sources.
