Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 16: In a bid to adjust his favorites for a "5-digit salary job" in the government sector, a minister has allegedly asked the Social Welfare Department to find out ways to hurriedly adjust them.
Sources said the minister has told one Mission Director associated with the Social Welfare Department to get this "personal work" done within a month.
The minister reportedly told the Mission Director to explore funds from any centrally-funded scheme to get the "influential job aspirants" adjusted as they were very dear to him.
Sources said the verbal directives of the minister have drawn criticism from the officials who are understood to have said that "recruitment process cannot be legally completed within month."
"We told the concerned that it was impossible to make recruitment for posts where the salary has to be above Rs 10,000 per month, but mantri ji is unwilling to listen to our pleas," said a senior official on the condition of anonymity.
Sources said the minister told the Mission Director to take "inspiration" from "Kehwa man" who appointed his "favorites within 11 days."
"When Kehwa man could recruit over one dozen of his favorites within fortnight why cannot you?," the sources quoted the minister as having told the Mission Director.
Sources said the Mission Director has assured the minister that he would leave no stone unturned to meet the expectations of the "mantri ji".
"But the Mission director has asked the minister that he would do the needful only if one of his favorites is also adjusted for the jobs," the sources said. It was reliably learnt that the minister has gone for an alleged pact with the Mission Director and has assured him that his interests would be kept in consideration.
When contacted a senior official in the Social Welfare Department tried to downplay the matter. "We are planning such fast-recruitments but it is not to please the mantri ji," the official said.
