Randhawa throws open office of JKSAC
2/18/2018 9:59:30 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 18: Member Legislative Council (MLC), Ch. Vikram Randhawa, today inaugurated the office of the Jammu and Kashmir Sarnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) at Roi Morh, Gadigarh in Gandhi Nagar.
The Jammu and Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) which is fighting for the rights of the refugees has opened its new office at Roi Morh which will benefit refugees from PoK.
While inaugurating the office Ch. Vikram said that the refugees who have been given onetime settlement package by the Central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi are being befooled by many agents. Pertinent to mention that the Central government had announced to deposit Rs. 2,000 crore into the bank accounts of 36,000 refugees from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
The compensation package for the refugees from PoK was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last year, and it got the clearance from the Union Cabinet in December. These refugees migrated to Jammu and Kashmir in 1947, 1965 and 1971. "Each PoK refugee would get Rs. 5.5 lakh in his or her bank account, and the Centre will bear the cost," Randhawa said.
However, Randhawa said that few stooges had started befooling the gullible people and were demanding money in the name of working out modalities for the completion of getting his package. "The JKSAC is saving people from felling prey to such people and is hence saving their money and precious time as well" Randhawa added. He also congratulated the team of JKSAC. Others who were present on the occasion include S. Gurdev Singh President JKSAC, Netar Prakash Sharma Gen Secy JKSAC, S. Avinash Singh Vice President JKSAC, Dwarika Nath Vice President JKSAC, Rajesh Khajuria Cashier JKSAC and others.
