Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 18: Police have arrested a local leader of ruling Peoples Democratic Party for his alleged involvement in a terror plot which was purportedly formulated to kill politicians of Marwah and former MoS Home and National Conference MLC Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo.
The arrested PDP leader has been identified as Abdul Rashid Tak, ex-Panch of Yardoo Panchayat ward No. 2. The terror plot came to fore after Police and Army arrested a Special Police Officer turned terrorist Mohammad Yaseen and his accomplice Riyaz Khanday. Yaseen had deserted the Police force and formed a terrorist group to carry out political killings in Marwah area.
As per the details available with "Early Times" the public of Marwah took a strong note of the alleged bid to hush up the matter and rasied hue and cry about it. Locals had confronted the Superintendent of Police Kishtwar in front of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana, who visited the Marwah few days ago. The people had told the visiting officials that Police gave a wrong statement with regard to the arrest of the SPO Mohammad Yaseen and his accomplice Riyaz Khanday wherein police claimed that both were arrested from a forest area while in actual the people claimed that both were arrested from a populated area and the said hideout was carved with the help of local PDP leader Abdul Rashid Tak.
The people demanded action and in-depth probe into the matter and termed it as an attempt to destabilize the peace in Marwah as well as to defame the area by indulging into political killings.
After facing heavy public criticism, Kishtwar police swung into action and launched a manhunt to nab the main accused who provided the shelter to the newly formed terror group following which the team of Police Station Marwah laid Nakkas at various places in Marwah and finally arrested Tak from Astangam Bridge on Friday while he was leaving Marwah for a safer place.
The police shifted him to Kishtwar for further questioning. The locals demanded that National Investigation Agency (NIA) should monitor the probe into the matter adding that they have no hope in police investigation. The locals said that a video showing the hideout of the newly formed terror group lead by the deserter SPO puncturing the tall claims of the police who claimed that both were arrested from forest area.
The people also denounced the police statement in which it was claimed that Police party led by Dy. SP operation conducted the raids in Marwah that led to the arrest of the deserter SPO while in actual Dy. SP operation Kishtwar did not visit the area and same could be proved from the photographs of press conference held by the SP Kishtwar at District Police Office Kishtwar.
The people said some BJP leaders were also involved in the case along with another policemen who are yet to be arrested or questioned in connection with the said case. They demanded their immediate arrest as well.
The sources at Joint Interrogation Center (JIC) inform the "Early Times" that the two accused Yaseen and Rayaz during questioning at JIC also narrated the whole story and vindicated the news report published in 23-1-2018 edition of the "Early Times". Following the questioning at JIC, the officials write a letter to senior officers demanding custody of the police personal whose name also surfaced during the questioning.
The intelligence sources inform the "Early Times" that as a well planned conspiracy, the Pakistan based terror outfits are directing the OGWs to make links with political parties, social organizations and also with the security forces so that they could get shelter in case trapped in security grid.
The sources said that various agencies are keeping an eye on the investigation being conducted by the police and assured that no guilty will be spared.
In connection with the probe, several people also called on senior police officers at Jammu and demanded probe into the matter. MLC Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo also calls on DG Dr. SP Vaid and discuss the issue with him. Kichloo seeks detail probe in the matter.
Police are tight lipped over the issue even after weeks fearing a political storm in the state and is making an attempt to hush up the case under political pressure. The sources close to former MoS Home Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo confirmed to "Early Times" that some gunmen followed Kichloo while he was on tour of Marwah when he was on its way from village Teller to Nawapachi at around 8.30 PM. Both the men were caught by the locals.
The NC sources said that there was a big political conspiracy going on to eliminate the former MoS Home added that in case of any eventuality, SP Kishtwar and his officers will be responsible for the same.
Some local PDP leader also supported the public call for independent probe into the matter added that any revival of the militancy in Marwah will be a major setback for the peace and development in the area.
