Congress leaders up in arms against JKPCC chief
2/18/2018 11:35:37 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 18: Even as Rahul Gandhi has announced the continuation of all incumbent PCC presidents, including JKPCC chief, a faction of Congressmen in Jammu and Kashmir has once again intensified dissident activities to dislodge the State president.
The dissident group, having allegiance with top Congress leader has intensified its campaign since Dusshera Group rally on February 11, when they were allegedly no allowed to sit on the dais and thus virtually subjected to humiliation.
The group is all set to approach Rahul Gandhi on February 22 at New Delhi for highlighting their grievance and lodge complaint against the incumbent JKPCC chief. The group is also likely to meet other senior Congress leaders.
Decision in this regard was taken in a secret meeting, held yesterday at Jammu. The meeting was attended by the revel Congressmen.
According to the sources, a senior Congress leader during his recent visit to Jammu last week, had advised his loyalists to maintain a temporary ceasefire with JKPCC Chief as the party high command, particularly Rahul Gandhi does not want to affect a change at PCC level.
However, sources said that the Congress rally at Dusshera ground on February 11 forced the group members to give voice to their dissent against the JKPCC chief, who allegedly humiliated them by not accommodating them on the dais.
Sources said that the group immediately informed the senior Congress leader based in New Delhi about the development, who had no reason to further stop the group from going ahead in campaign against the present JKPCC chief.
Though the camp led by incumbent JKPCC chief is confident that nothing would happen to him, sources said that picture would be clear with regard to further developments only after February 22 meeting of dissident group with Rahul Gandhi.
