Deport Rohingyas, Bangladeshis from Jammu or face consequences: Harsh
2/18/2018 11:13:01 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 18: Disconcerted over the dangerous delay and deny tactics of the State govt. to evict Rohingyas and Bangladeshis from Jammu region, Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP and former Minister admonished the BJP-PDP coalition for its total failure to take call on the deportation of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis to their native countries despite their suspected role in the recent terror attacks on Army camps and overt involvement in drug trafficking, flesh trade and other crimes. He was addressing a press conference today.
Addressing the media, Harsh Dev Singh said that the earlier inputs by the intelligence agencies suggesting the presence of Rohingyas in Jammu could fuel 'drugs and terrorism' had come true with several arrests of Myanmar nationals in narco smuggling and their alleged involvement in terror attacks on defence personnel. He revealed that couple of days ago DSB wing of Jammu Police had arrested a Rohingya after recovering 60 gms of Ganja from his possession at Bari Brahamana area. Likewise, Police apprehended one more in Samba recently and after frisking 37gms of Ganja was recovered from his possession, Harsh said. Recalling further, he divulged that Police had arrested a Rohingya national in September last year at Chowadi area and recovered 10 kg of purified form of cannabis from his possession which he had smuggled from outside the State for selling among the youth.
He asserted that their involvement in fidayeen attacks like one at Sunjawan Army camp could not be ruled as there were reports that they were lured by radical outfits like JeM, HM and other terror networks. "State government had earlier confessed that 17 FIRs had been registered against 38 Rohingyas for various offences including illegal border crossing. Moreover, all these illicit settlers inhabiting Jammu had been dubbed as 'ticking time bomb' by the security agencies and their indulgence in drug trade and other alleged subversive acts only pointed out that coming dangerous events were casting their shadows before", Harsh added. Harsh Dev Singh regretted that the so called GoM constituted by the State government for the purpose of deportation of the foreign immigrants to their respective countries had proved an 'eye wash'. He said that the unlawful settlement of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis were not posing a grave threat to the Jammu region's demography but also to its youth and the security personnel.
"The much hyped group of four cabinet Ministers headed by Dy CM Nirmal Singh had only proved a mere window dressing to befool the people at large. The panel met on few occasions and instead of adopting practical approach, the GoM only threw the ball in the court of the Union govt.", Harsh said.
He said that since these foreign nationals had already been identified in Jammu city and its adjacent peripheries, the State govt. should immediately publicize their population and the GoI must act promptly to simply deport them to their native countries without any further delay. He called upon intellectual forums, social organizations, nationalist forces, youth and student organizations to get united to launch a mass agitation against the soaring menace which otherwise would prove detrimental to the peace, tranquility and harmony of Duggar land and her pristine glory.
